Flipkart fined by Bengaluru Consumer Court for failing to deliver a mobile phone despite receiving advance payment from consumer The decision was made by the chairperson of the Bengaluru Urban District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, who also ordered the e-commerce company to pay a fine of Rs 20,000, a legal expense reimbursement of Rs 10,000, and an amount equal to Rs 12,499 (the cost of the mobile phone) with yearly interest of 12%. She further claimed that the company failed to deliver the phone to her even after receiving full payment. Flipkart received notice from the consumer court, but the company failed to send a representative to the commission. FlipKart has been castigated by the Bengaluru Consumer Court, which found that after making the entire payment, the consumer never received the mobile phone and had to endure emotional trauma.
