AUTO EV Policy: Will The New Policy Generate Global Electric Vehicle Manufacturers' Interest in India? Check Navneet Choudhary May 21, 2024 11:13 GMT EV Policy: The Indian government is ready for the second round of meeting with the automobile manufacturers industry after the completion of its first round successfully. The first meet was held in April 2024. As per reports, it was decided in the first meeting to raise the guidelines for the New EV Policy in the another round. It is believed that the second round will be announced in the coming one or two months. EV Policy is not for an individual company, says Amitabh Kant Amitabh Kant, the former CEO of NITI Aayog and the current G20 Sherpa, stated that the government's new EV policy does not apply to a single automotive manufacturer. It is being prepared with the consideration of all other companies. He further reportedly stated that all companies will have to follow the policy standards. Additionally, it was being anticipated that the Tesla owner, Elon Musk could come to India in April. However his visit to India cancelled, but people were speculating that his journey could strongly add on to the new pathway of EVs in India. EV Policy will entice worldwide EV manufacturers The New policy for Electric Vehicle will attract the global EV manufacturers to India. As the policy is being prepared in order to broadly enhance their business setup. The provisions and incentives would be benefitted to only those Electric Vehicle manufacturers who will invest after the rise of guidelines. The previous investment would not be considered as a part of incentive of the New policy. The Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India will exercise the second round of meeting.
